My proposed implementation of the edit-page interface uses tabs for the
different views of a page

This prompted a discussion about where else tabs could be used. I suggest that
the messages-area of a group.
The messages area of a group is a bit of an oddity. If you try and access it
you will get a not-found error
http://groupserver.org/groups/development/messages/
However, within it lives the views of the topics and posts in the group. I
propose that a page for the messages area is created that will show three
tabs:Topics, Posts, and Summary of Posts. In discussion groups the Topics tab
is open by default, in announcement groups the Posts tab is open by default.
The link from the group context-menu would be renamed Messages (rather than
Topics or Posts). The Messages page will replace the existing Topics, Posts and
Summary of Posts pages. Tabs are an appropriate navigation-structure for this
page as they are presenting different views of the same data, which is what
tabs should be used for.
Does this sound sane? I have been troubled by the page-structure in the
messages area since my last redesign, and I am far happier with the proposed
design above.
