It is now the end of October, and we missed out (ambitious) deadline for the
alpha-release of GroupServer 1.0: Cream Freeze at the Beach.
http://groupserver.org/groupserver/roadmap/#cream-freeze
Richard, Alice, and I are working on getting a working release out the door:
* Richard is working on implementing a Buildout,
* Alice is working on re-factoring the code related to
groups, mailing lists, and permissions, while
* I am working on registration.
Unfortunately, until we are done GroupServer is very very hard to install. Even
by the three core developers.
I *hope* that some opening of the code will occur in the next couple of weeks.
Everyone at OnlineGroups.Net realises how important it is to make a timely
release of code, and we are working hard at getting a release out the door.

More than this: we are working hard on getting a release out the door that is
easy for up to *keep* releasing, frequently. Having such long release cycles is
painful for us all, we don't like it, and we know it is painful for the users!
Keep up the hard work, we appreciate it.
